In honor of African-American History Month, the MFA Houston brings us African Art: Old and New, which explores works from the MFAH’s Arts of Africa collection, placing them within their cultural and historical contexts. The presentation also highlights how African American artists, including Houstonian John Biggers, drew inspiration from their ancestral roots, featuring selected works from the collection.
