At Newton at Home, we believe that the connection between generations isn’t just valuable --- it’s essential. That’s why we invite teens to take part in our Teen Service program, where young people build relationships with our elder members through meaningful volunteer work.
Why It Matters
When teens and seniors come together, something powerful happens. Stories are shared, wisdom is passed down, and both generations discover new perspectives. For our members, a teen’s companionship can brighten a day and rekindle a sense of purpose. For teens, it’s a chance to learn, grow, and make a real impact in someone’s life.

How Teens Can Help
We welcome teen volunteers to contribute their time, talents, and energy in a variety of ways, including:
- Assisting with technology and digital communication
- Participating in social activities and events
- Helping our members with seasonal tasks around the home, like raking leaves, shovelling snow, and other handyworker tasks
- Offering companionship through one-on-one visits
- Supporting staff with light tasks and organization
