Newton at Home
Women of Courage and Conviction
A copy of "Women of Courage and Conviction" by Dorothy Anger
DonateIn this inspiring new book, Dorothy brings to light the remarkable life stories of five women in our city whom she met through Newton at Home: Louise Bruyn, Maria Brisk, Shlomit Mintz, Hanni Myers, and Sallie Craig Huber. These women’s experiences span continents and eras: one walked from Newton to Washington, D.C. in a “Walk for Peace”; another grew up in Argentina during the Perón regime; two survived their childhoods as Jews under the Nazi regime; and the fifth became a global leader in women’s reproductive health and health systems management.
Dorothy has generously donated this book to Newton at Home, so all money raised from book purchases will go to improving and expanding the services and programs that we offer to our older adult members.
